According to the U. S. Department of Agriculture, increasing numbers of city dwellers want to make connections with the farmers who grow their food. The Oregon Berry Festival Agri-Tour is designed to help you do just that.
On Friday, July 20th at 3PM and Saturday, July 21, at 1:00pm you are invited to Unger’s Farm Store in beautiful Cornelius, Oregon just a short ride from Portland to “Meet Your Berry Farmer” as part of the 2012 Oregon Berry Festival. You can have some fun learning about how a berry farm works and what it takes to grow the best darn berries around. You will get a chance to meet Matt and Kathy Unger and their family who make seasonal, fresh and local eating possible.
The Ungers will have lots of delicious fresh Oregon berries available to purchase along with the educational part of the tour. The Unger Farm stand backs up to a sparkling pond that provides a backdrop for their inviting deck be sure to plan on spending a few minutes sitting back and enjoying the sights and sounds of life on a farm.
The 2012 Agri-Tour is self-guided, meaning you provide your own transportation, whether by car or bicycle, letting you set your own pace and enjoy the day. Matt and Kathy are offering $1.00 off any purchase when you mention “The Oregon Berry Festival”.
